Hailing from Huntington Beach, California, the award-winning Mai Tais®  are a band which was formed in 2005.   As a genre, Instrumental Surf Music (right, no singing) originated in southern California in the 1960’s.  Ray, Kelly and Miguel have combined their love of classic Surf Instrumentals with heavy Rock and Roll and formed it into their rockin' surf sound, influenced by Instrumental Surf, Punk, Metal, and Blues.

Their live show is always high-energy and family-oriented.   Recently, they have expanded their music catalog to include a few vocals. They have played the Orange County Fair (2007-2017) and many festivals, such as the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival (2007-2010), the Orange International Street Fair (2006-2016), and the Dana Point Whale Festival (2007-2017).  They have provided music for car shows, such as the Huntington Beach Concours Hot Rod Show (2007-2010) and the Uptown Whittier Car Show, as well as motivational music for several charity walks (Relay for Life, Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Komen Cancer Run) and sporting events such as the Run Surf City Marathon, Pasadena Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon and the Surf City 10.   The band has also opened for two national touring groups at the Coach House:  the Surfaris (2007) and the Gary Ho Ho Hoey Christmas show (2007, 2009-2012).

At festivals, The Mai Tais®  encourage audience participation with free leis and hula hoop contests.   On some occasions, our air cannons celebrate by propelling streamers.  Fans of all ages, from preschoolers to babyboomers, have experienced The Mai Tais® and have walked away with the same thought, "Those guys ROCK!"

The Mai Tais® may not be famous, but they sure are fun!
